Emotional abuse victim: 'I was oblivious to the control'
"This month, a new law will be introduced making it illegal to exercise what's called 'coercive control'.
That means psychological and emotional abuse will be criminalised for the first time. Anyone convicted could face up to five years in prison. Rayna Holden’s ex partner showed many of the behaviour patterns covered by the new law.
He went on to beat her unconscious in a pub car park. Rayna, 18, says:“ I kept thinking I could help him and that he was going to change."
