Football refugee: 'We saw death with our eyes'
Syria's Mohammed Jaddoua should have been leading his country at the Fifa U17 World Cup in Chile but now lives in Germany after being forced to flee his homeland.
In an interview with World Football, he reveals the trauma he faced as he looked for safety in another part of the world.
"We were drowning," he recalls. "A Turkish ship found us and carried us to the Italian Coast Guard. It was a very hard journey and I won't be able to forget it, no matter how hard I try. We saw death with our eyes."
