Warner: Only ethical thing for me to do is leave

Lord Warner has left the Labour Party after he said Jeremy Corbyn became leader by "a very bizarre electoral process".

The former health minister said he did not support the new leader's policies, and claimed they were “not likely to convince the British people to vote for him”.

He spoke to Jo Coburn on Tuesday’s Daily Politics, and claimed the “only ethical thing” for him to do was to leave the party.

The peer spoke about the result after some MPs supported Mr Corbyn to get him on the ballot paper, but then did not back him, and the party then allowed people to sign up for £3 and vote.
