Swimming the Atlantic
Some time in December Ben Hooper will wade into warm waters off the coast of Senegal for a swim. And he'll keep swimming...and swimming... until he reaches the coast of Natal in Brazil. If he succeeds, he'll be the first person to officially swim solo across the Atlantic. He's been telling us how he trains for such a gruelling task, and how he'll avoid the sharks that he'll inevitably meet on the way. The swim, when it happens, can be tracked live via GPS here: www.bensmiles.co.uk.
