Female martial arts fighter: 'It's been a long journey'
Ireland's first female professional mixed martial arts fighter, Aisling Daly, says winning in front of her home Dublin crowd was "a dream come true". She overcame Ericka Almeida in her Ultimate Fighting Championship bout on Saturday night.
She said: "All I heard when I was training was that woman will never be in the UFC. For me to win that fight in Dublin, in front of my home crowd, was amazing. It was the best experience ever. It was very emotional and it's been a long hard journey."
Aisling also told Stephen Nolan on 5 Live of her admiration for the undefeated fighter Ronda Rousey, who, she said, had helped to create the women's division...
