England's response to claim 2018 WC vote was rigged
A Chief Operating Officer for the England 2018 World Cup bid has told 5 live “The Football Association has every right to bring legal action against FIFA."
Simon Johnson made his comments after Sepp Blatter revealed that there was an agreement in place for the 2018 World Cup to go to Russia even before the vote took place.
Mr Johnson went on to say that England “played by the rules” during the bid and “right until the night before” the vote they thought they had “every chance”.
The revelations come on the same day the FA chairman Greg Dyke faced questions from the Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee over the FA's backing of Michel Platini for the FIFA presidency.
