Lewis Hamilton may be the newly crowned Formula 1 world champion, but Mexican wrestling is probably not a sport you would associate him with.

The Englishman bizarrely took to the ring on Thursday ahead of this weekend's Mexico Grand Prix.

Hamilton took part in a tag-team match in Mexico City, even performing some moves on his masked opponent.

"I did some wrestling. I took the dude down", he joked to Lee McKenzie.

"He tag-teamed me...fortunately it didn't go too badly."
