Adele drummer: 'her head, heart and voice are connected'
Session musician Ash Soan played drums and percussion on "Set Fire to the Rain". He says Adele is a "real deal artist", who knows exactly what she wants in the studio.
"There's a little drum pattern that I play in the second verse," he says. "She sang that to me. That's her idea. She was very creatively involved in the whole process, which is really unusual."
"Her head, her heart, and her voice are connected. Artists pick up on that. Her peers pick up on that. Plumbers, aunties, mums, teenagers, and everybody ... picks up [on that]. She's just being honest. I wish more pop stars would be like that."
"Hello", the first single from Adele in three years, just went to Number One, and has been streamed seven million times online.
