Man falsely accused of rape records consent from dates
Kayode Modupe-Ojo, who was falsely accused of rape, has told 5 live Daily that his ordeal has now resulted in him recording consent, in the fear that he will be accused again.
A man falsely accused of rape has told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 live that he now records his dates giving him consent to having sex, because of his fear that he will be accused of rape again.
Kayode Modupe-Ojo had accepted a friend request from a girl on Facebook, but things quickly headed into a downward spiral, ending with him being locked up for a crime he didn’t commit. He was falsely accused of kidnap and rape, but acquitted on day one of the court case due to a lack of evidence.
Kayode has now decided to record consent from his dates. He often uses his smartphone to do this, by making video or audio recordings, but he says it gets mixed reviews.
He told 5 live Daily: "I get the initial phases recorded and then I get the after. It’s extremely awkward. I have to use an excuse: 'I don’t trust, I have to make sure you are who you say you are'. Some tend to have a laugh about it, some of them tend to raise an eyebrow."
