The Hunt producer: Filming the most elusive big cat
The man behind some of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s biggest natural history programmes told 5 live how they filmed a leopard hunting its prey.
Alastair Fothergill said 'leopards are the most elusive of all the big cats' so the production team 'got very lucky' with this particular animal.
'We managed to find an extraordinary female leopard who not only hunted in the day but used that gully and in a sense you couldn't dream of anything better.'
He told 5 live's Afternoon Edition 'it was a dream come true' to be able to follow the leopard as it hunted.
He also paid tribute Steven Price who composed the music for The Hunt and had previously won an Oscar for scoring the film Gravity; 'what we're trying to do with this series is inject cinema into natural history.'
He added that the score was the 'emotional heart' of many of the episodes.
