'People will ask - is it the colour of their skin?'

The sackings of Huddersfield Town boss Chris Powell and QPR counterpart Chris Ramsey made Wednesday a “really disappointing day” for Kick it Out’s Troy Townsend.

Ramsey left with QPR 13th in the Championship following a 1-0 defeat by Derby, while Huddersfield have won only three times in the league this season.

Townsend referenced the number of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic managers in the Football League by tweeting: “From six to four in less than 12 hours.”

He then told Mark Chapman: “It’s a really disappointing day in regards to people from a black and ethnic minority background that are looking to be in the game and be a part of the game at the highest level.

He added that "people will look and think is it worth it? Is it because of the colour of their skin, or are they bad managers?", but said he felt for Ramsey and Powell, “I think they are too good to stay out of the game for too long.”
