Female racing driver: Susie Wolff has been ‘phenomenal'
A young female racing driver has praised the “phenomenal” support given to her by Formula One test driver Susie Wolff, who has announced her retirement.
Wolff - the first woman to take part in a grand prix weekend for more than 20 years – said she decided to retire because her aim of racing in Formula 1 "isn't going to happen".
GT4 sports car racing driver Jamie Chadwick, 17, said although it was a “shame” Wolff retired before achieving her goal of a race seat in F1, she was still a huge inspiration to young girls in motorsport.
“For a young driver like myself, I aspired to her 100 percent,” Chadwick said.
