What happens to my disabled daughter when I die?
Danielle Petley is 27 years old and has cerebral palsy.
Her mum, Dee Petley, says she is desperately concerned about what happens to Danielle when she can no longer care for her. Dee has struggled to get Danielle into residential care after her husband died and she has had health problems.
Dee told Adrian Chiles she has reached “crisis point”, adding “there was a time when I thought well, maybe if she has a seizure and doesn’t come out of it then I wouldn’t have to worry”.
Dee spoke to 5 live Daily after the disability charity Fitzroy UK released a report about the concerns of parents of people with learning disabilities called 'Who will care after I'm gone'.
