Ian Rankin critiques listeners' crime novel pitches
The Scottish crime writer, Ian Rankin, has sold well in excess of 30 million books worldwide.
He is best-known for creating the detective John Rebus, who is back in his 20th story, Even Dogs In the Wild, which is already topping bestseller lists.
We asked 5 live listeners to tweet their story pitches, and we read out the best ones on air to Rankin, so he could critique them.
"All crime writers," said Rankin, "are frustrated rock stars."
