Is women's cricket sterile and stagnant? England's new coach on criticism
The new head coach of the England women's cricket team has told 5 live the sport needs to keep evolving to stop it being 'sterile' and stagnant.
Mark Robinson was responding to criticism of the women's game. He said: 'We just saw a five day test match in Abu Dhabi where for four days it was dull as dishwater.'
But he added: "It's important it keeps evolving. It's important we keep going forward and not shutting out ideas.'
He told Afternoon Edition that women's cricket is changing rapidly 'out of recognition' and said 'there are things happening that we wouldn't have envisaged three years ago.'
