England cricketer Stuart Broad has tipped his teammate Joe Root to be the next captain of the national side.

He told Dan Walker that Broad 'has all the attributes' to take over from Alastair Cook one day.

He said: 'He doesn't seem to have any weaknesses, he's got a natural ability to score.'

The bowler said Root would be a good successor to current captain Alastair Cook who he described as 'one of the best batsmen' he'd ever played with.

About Root, he said: 'The added pressure of the captaincy is tough but I think he's got a head on his shoulders that he can cope with that.'
