Victor Gregg fought for the British Army in World War Two. He experienced the North Africa campaign and the intense fighting around the Dutch town of Arnhem after the D-Day landings but was captured by the Germans and became a prisoner of war. He was held in Dresden where he witnessed the firebombing of the of the city by American and British planes in February 1945, which killed an estimated twenty-five thousand people over three days.

Now 96 years old, Victor has written a memoir about his experiences entitled 'Soldier, Spy - A Survivor's Tale' with co-author Rick Stroud. Victor has been speaking to Weekend's Julian Worricker who asked him how he felt when he finally returned to Britain in 1946.
