Prince targets touts by postponing sales of gig tickets
Global superstar Prince is taking a stand against ticket touts - by postponing sales for his upcoming UK tour. It's after a Which? report claimed touts are operating on resale websites.
The consumer watchdog said some sites offered tickets for resale at inflated prices before or at exactly the same as they officially went on sale, displayed "suspicious ticket release patterns" and ignored resale restrictions.
Ticket fraud expert Reg Walker, from Iridium Consultancy, welcomed the move: ""I think it's great. I think it shows the artist cares about the fans more than the money."
Reg explained, "there's been an explosion in the harvesting of tickets and then their inflation on secondary sites [and it] prices out those with the least ability to pay."
