Martin O'Neill: Euro 2016 'a great achievement'
Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has said qualifying for the Euro 2016 is a "great achievement" but it's "difficult" to foresee what the team could achieve yet.
Speaking to ѿý 5 live's George Riley, he said that Mark Lawrenson's comments that the qualification is the greatest achievement in the side's history saying, "Mark was a terrific player".
He added that if Monday's game was the last in the tournament, some of the players would have considered retirement but it's a "boost" for them now they have something "to look forward to".
O'Neill also believes that Roy Keane is a "world-class player" although "Alex Ferguson might disagree" and stated that the pair "actually get on pretty well which might surprise people".
