Has Ken Livingstone made his stance on mental health any clearer?
The former Labour mayor Ken Livingstone has said he would not have made derogatory comments towards the Shadow Defence Minister if he'd "known he had mental health problems".
Kevan Jones criticised Ken Livingstone's appointment as chair of a review of Labour's defence policies. Mr Livingstone responded by saying Mr Jones was "obviously very depressed and disturbed" and "should see a GP".
Mr Jones, who has suffered with depression, said the comments were "gravely offensive".
Speaking to 5 live's Nicky Campbell, Mr Livinstone said he was "very angry" that Jones had not "bothered to pick up the phone" and had made an "attack" on him instead.
Mr Livingstone has "unreservedly" apologised for suggesting Kevan Jones needed "psychiatric help".
