A woman has warned people about following 'life hack' tips on Facebook after her kitchen almost went up in flames when she cooked cheese on toast.

Suzanne Dale, from Sale in Greater Manchester, said the instructions read "put your toaster on its side then put the bread in with the cheese on top".

But Suzanne's toaster promptly "burst into flames".

Pictures of her toasted cheese meltdown have been shared thousands of times.

Fire services around the UK have previously warned people not to use a toaster to make cheese on toast, because of the risk of fire.

Suzanne is now warning others not to repeat her mistakes, and said she has been "put off" trying any more short cut tips.
