Lexxie Harford has decided to show her birthmark "proudly" instead of covering it up with make-up like she did as a teenager.

The 23-year-old posted a series of selfies online and they were viewed over 100,000 times in one day.

She said that many people mistake her birthmark for a bruise, often asking her "are you in an abusive relationship?".

She told 5 live's Chris Warburton that she wants to "teach people what a birthmark actually is" so that people who also have them will feel "more comfortable to show them off".
