Platforma Festival
The third Platforma Festival, held in Leicester across the first week of November, was led by Tom Green from Counterpoints Arts, in partnership with ArtReach, and brought together artists, performers, organisations and interested members of the public to explore all aspects of the arts within the refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking communities.
In this short film we speak to Tom from Counterpoints; Bobby Lloyd and Jess Linton of Art Refuge UK in Calais; Simona Scotto, the artistic director or Counterpoint dance; Peggy Nulongo from Community Arts Northwest; and Dash Arts creative associate Sophie Austin, among others. Collectively, they discuss the breadth of work happening across the UK within the refugee, migrant and asylum-seeker art networks.
