Supervet: All pets should have organ donor cards
Supervet Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, a pioneer the world of pet surgery, says an organ donation register for pets would "revolutionise" the world of animal medicine.
Professor Fitzpatrick has pioneered several veterinary techniques including joint replacement and prosthetic surgery for animals from his state-of-the-art clinic in Surrey, and says if pets carried organ donor cards it would make it easier to access bone marrow and stem cells.
He believes that now is the time to "revolutionise medicine with the perfect marriage of mechanics and biology".
