He's played poker with Elvis Presley, was Oscar nominated for his comeback role in Boogie Nights, and broke several bones during the filming of Deliverance. Over a career spanning five decades, he's starred in films including Sharky's Machine, the Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit, which took over a hundred million dollars at the box office in 1977.
