Zamalek to Quit Egyptian Football
Zamalek have recently won their first league title in a decade but it may be their last ever after they announced on their website that they would no longer take part in the competition. After an early red card and two penalties contributed to a 3-2 defeat to El-Gaish, the club said that they no longer wanted to field their team.
Khaled Mortaguy is a former board member at their big rivals, Al Ahly. He's also on FIFA's Committee for Club Football.
He says the Egyptian league would not survive if Zamalek follow through on their threat.
