Phil Neville: Sacking Van Gaal is 'not the answer'
Manchester United's former first-team coach Phil Neville believes the club should stick with the Dutchman but suggests he "should be judged at the end of the season".
Neville, now assistant to his brother Gary at Valencia, said: "There seems to be an obsession with sacking your manager. That is not the answer. I don't think Manchester United need to turn into one of the clubs where, if they hit a rocky patch, they continue to keep changing their manager."
Looking back on his time at Old Trafford, Neville admits it was not successful all of the time: "When I was at United it wasn't pretty every week, we lost of games. It's not the Alex Ferguson era now. It's not all doom and gloom but performances need to get better."
