Meet Alexandra Stein. She's 61 and recently took up a post as a lecturer at the prestigious University of London - and is back in the city where she grew up, the intellectual daughter of South African political activists. Which makes her story all the more disturbing. It starts in the early 1980s in San Francisco, where Alex was getting very involved in leftwing organisations....
