Tom Cleverley strike seals Everton win at Newcastle
Tom Cleverley's injury time winner secured Everton a 1-0 victory at Newcastle in the Premier League.
Midfielder Cleverley's header was his first goal for the club despite the former Manchester United player going without a goal in his 10 previous appearances for Everton, kept his composure to head home.
Resolute defending from the Newcastle backline throughout denied Romelu Lukaku the opportunity to level Dixie Dean's 88-year-old record of scoring in nine successive Toffees appearances.
The win gives Roberto Martinez's side a first win in five league games and moves them into ninth in the table, while defeat for Newcastle sees Steve McClaren's side drop back into the relegation zone.
