Americans held hostage in Iran in 1979 win compensation
In 1979, Iranian students stormed the American embassy in Tehran and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. The crisis and its consequences are still influencing US-Iran relations. Last week, Washington approved a long-awaited compensation deal for the embassy staff - each will receive around $4million. The veteran diplomat, John Limbert, was one of the hostages.
