Woman bitten by shark: 'Jellyfish sting hurt more'

A woman who was attacked by a shark off the coast of Gran Canaria has said jellyfish stings "hurt a lot more".

Cris Ojeda was visiting relatives in a local village when she "went for a dip after Christmas lunch" and suddenly felt something "tugging" on her arm.

She managed to make the creature let go of her arm by "hitting in the snout" until it swam away.

Speaking to 5 live's Rachel Burden she added, "I didn't know it was a shark" but after marine biologists assessed and measured the wound they confirmed it was a shark approximately 6 feet long.

Despite her ordeal, Cris Ojeda said although she has to wait for her wound to heal, she "really wants to go back in the water".
