Lawrenson: Srnicek 'did not have a bad bone in his body'
ѿý Sport’s football expert Mark Lawrenson has paid tribute to Pavel Srnicek, who has died aged 47.
The former Newcastle United goalkeeper died nine days after suffering cardiac arrest in his native Czech Republic.
Lawrenson worked with Srnicek as a defence coach with Newcastle United and praised the goalkeeper for his relationship with his rival for the club’s number one shirt, Shaka Hislop.
“’Pav’ was actually helping Shaka, helping him to become a better goalkeeper and in effect worsening his own position,” Lawrenson said.
