蜜芽传媒 Sport鈥檚 football expert Mark Lawrenson has paid tribute to Pavel Srnicek, who has died aged 47.

The former Newcastle United goalkeeper died nine days after suffering cardiac arrest in his native Czech Republic.

Lawrenson worked with Srnicek as a defence coach with Newcastle United and praised the goalkeeper for his relationship with his rival for the club鈥檚 number one shirt, Shaka Hislop.

鈥溾�橮av鈥� was actually helping Shaka, helping him to become a better goalkeeper and in effect worsening his own position,鈥� Lawrenson said.
