Stand-up comedian, actor and writer Eddie Izzard has been speaking about his plans to become an MP. He hopes to stand as a Labour candidate in the 2020 General Election.

Eddie Izzard told Colin Paterson that as far as choosing a constituency, he was 'happy to go anywhere'.

And when asked by Colin if more comedians wanted to become politically active, he added 'I actually do predict that there will be more people from comedy going into it, because it's a very analytical thing that we do and there are a lot of comedians who are activists'.
