Turbulence plane: 'people hit the ceiling'
A doctor who helped treat injured passengers on a flight hit by severe turbulence has told 5 live “people were literally thrown from their seats” during the incident.
Dr Suzanne Caudry, who was on the Canada-bound airliner when it was forced to make an emergency landing, said “people hit the ceiling and there was a lot of debris being thrown around… it was a miracle more people weren’t injured”.
21 people on the plane were injured, 13 of whom were taken to hospital for observation.
The Air Canada flight carrying 332 passengers from Shanghai to Toronto was diverted to Calgary last night after the turbulence hit.
