Harry Belafonte: still fighting injustice at 88
During 2015, the Black Lives Matter movement, which began as a social media hashtag, gained momentum as relations between the police and African American communities in various cities, deteriorated. The singer, actor and veteran civil rights activist, Harry Belafonte, who was close to the Reverend Martin Luther King and brought Hollywood to that famous March on Washington in 1963, continues to work as activist. Newshour's Razia Iqbal asked him to reflect on the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown among others in the context of his own involvement in the civil rights struggle of the 1960s.
