18 Jan 16: The Museum of Curiosity (Ep1)
John Lloyd & his new curator Sarah Millican are joined by badger fanatic and comedian Holly Walsh; Freakonomics author Stephen J. Dubner; and utopian adventurer Dr David Bramwell.
This week, the Professor of Ignorance John Lloyd and his new curator Sarah Millican welcome Holly Walsh, comedian, would-be medieval scholar and host of Radio 4’s hit panel show Best Behaviour; Stephen J. Dubner, the co-author of Freakonomics, a best-selling book that turned our understanding of economics on its head; and Dr David Bramwell, the author, comedian, and adventurer whose book The No. 9 Bus To Utopia recounts his year-long pilgrimage in search of a Better Life.
This week, the Museum’s Guest Committee speculate on what drove medieval monks to draw obscene doodles on sacred manuscripts; why a mind-reading microchip could see the end of civilisation as we know it; and an interesting theory about who all those streakers were at 1970 sports events.
The show was researched by Anne Miller and Molly Oldfield of QI.
The producers were Richard Turner and James Harkin.
