Killer whales 'could face extinction'
One of the most intelligent creatures on the planet is facing a threat to its very existence in Europe and, possibly, across the world. That is the conclusion of a new study into orcas, or killer whales, by London Zoo. It says that whales are under threat because of pullutants in European waters that were banned over 30 years ago. Dr Paul Jepson is the lead report author and specialist wildlife veterinarian at London Zoo's Institute of Zoology.
