Man's secret selfie marriage proposal is a success
A man from Grimsby has taken a series of nearly 150 selfies containing a secret message to propose to his girlfriend.
Ray Smith took five months to pop the question to Claire Bramley, holding a hidden note in the background saying 'will you marry me?'
He was nearly rumbled on one occasion, saying: "I dropped the card trying to put it into my back pocket in the kitchen and it hit the floor." Ray said he blamed the catflap and thought "Oh my god, she's caught me!"
Claire, who's pregnant, says "he told me he was putting a memory book together for the baby," and was used to having her photo taken all the time, so didn't suspect anything.
On Christmas Day, Ray eventually proposed and the couple are hoping to get married in Spring 2017.
