Dunwoody: Concussion may have caused memory loss

Former Jockey Richard Dunwoody admits he loses his memory and is concerned it could be caused by concussions he suffered during his racing career.

He said, "I was reasonably concussed on seven or eight occasions and had quite bad memory loss."

Dunwoody is taking part in a new study of Concussion in Sport which is looking at the long-term effects of concussion on men and women who have competed in contact sports.

The study will ask whether retired sportsmen and women are more likely to suffer from neuro-degenerative disorders such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Disease.
