Van Gaal: Man Utd players need fans support
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says fans had a right to boo after the club's 1-0 home defeat to Southampton, but stressed players need their support.
Charlie Austin scored an 87th-minute winner on his Southampton debut in a match in which Manchester United on registered one shot on target.
The final whistle was met with a chorus of boos around Old Trafford, and while van Gaal said he acknowledges the fans frustration he added they "must support [the] club for better or worse...because the players need support".
