A report on the rising price of rice which has caused rioting in some parts of the world. Rice prices have doubled since the start of 2008 leading to rioting in some parts of world amid global concern at the cost of staple foods. Rice exporting countries have slashed exports, in order to protect their domestic supplies, but not in Thailand as Lesley Curwen reports.
