How could they possibly have survived?

For three years, Eva Clarke's mother Anna had been interned in the Czech concentration camp, Terezin, where she lost a baby son; in 1944 Anna followed her husband to Auschwitz but was sent to work in a munitions factory before being transferred, heavily pregnant with Eva, to the notorious Austrian concentration camp of Mauthausen. But everyone ‒ born and unborn ‒ was under a death sentence. This is Anna's and Eva's remarkable survival story, as told to Caroline Wyatt.
