Dementia doll 'changed my grandma's life'
Kirsty Ashton has told 5 live Breakfast that when she gave her 88-year-old grandmother a doll it "changed her life".
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast's Rachel Burden she said the doll has been "wonderful" for her grandmother, Ronny, and that it "really brightens her up".
Doll therapy is increasingly being used to help support people with dementia.
Kirsty said "if you have a child they may have a comfort blanket or a comfort teddy bear that goes around with them and it's just the same principle".
