A sailor whose boat has had to be rescued by the RNLI nine times in seven months has told 5 live he doesn鈥檛 feel that his actions are 鈥減utting anyone at risk鈥�.

The latest call to the emergency services was made when the boat tipped over in Hayle Harbour in West Cornwall, causing a small fire on board.

American Steve Shapiro, who is part of the two man crew of the Nora, said he got his sailing qualifications 鈥渓ast year鈥� so he feels 鈥渧ery comfortable鈥� that he鈥檚 skilled enough to sail to North America.

The crewmen, who are both 71, left Norway in July 2015 and are hoping to sail across the Atlantic.
