Lego to make a figure in a wheelchair after petition
The mother of a visually impaired child has told 5 live she "did a happy dance" when she found out Lego were going to start making figures in wheelchairs.
Karen Newell, who is from the 'toylikeme' equality campaign, said it is important that more toys are made to represent people with disabilities as "the little things make a big impact".
The campaign was set up by a group of parents who noticed a gap in the market for toys that represented people with disabilities, and after an online petition gained 20,000 signatures, Lego responded by creating a figure in a wheelchair and a guide dog, which will be released in June.
