The race for the White House is officially on, as people in Iowa became the first to choose which Republican and Democrat they want as candidate for the next US president.
The Republican front runner, Donald Trump, suffered a setback finishing second - behind the Texas senator, Ted Cruz in Iowa.
Provisional results in the Democratic Party contest give Hillary Clinton the narrowest of victories.
