Gay emojis banned in Indonesia
Emojis have become a common form of communication across the world on messaging platforms, but today, the Indonesian government have banned illustrations of boys holding hands with boys, and girls holding hands with girls. A spokesman from the communications ministry said that gay content must be removed from social media, to respect the "culture and local wisdom of the country". Homosexuality is not illegal in Indonesia but what is life like for the LGBT community in the country? Jonta Saragih is a gay man living in Jakarta - working for an HIV prevention project in the city.
