Giant iceberg wipes out 150,000 penguins
An iceberg, which is the size of Luxembourg, is threatening to wipe out an entire colony of Adelie penguins within 20 years and has already killed off 150,000 penguins in the region.
Researchers believe many of the Adélie penguins in Commonwealth Bay are no longer breeding and have been forced to travel over 70 miles for food.
Alastair Fothergill, who is shooting a documentary with the Adélie penguins, told 5 live Drive "there's no doubt that global warming has caused a change".
But he went on to say that he is confident the "feisty little guys" will do “pretty well for a very long time".
