John Carver: Newcastle lack a real leader
Former Newcastle manager John Carver has said captain Fabricio Coloccini "almost plays as an individual" and the club lacks a real leader in their relegation battle.
"Coloccini's not vocal, he almost plays for himself and it's something I think the club will have to address. In times like now when we're in trouble, we need some leaders," Carver admitted.
Newcastle dropped into the relegation zone on goal difference after conceeding three goals in the first 17 minutes against Chelsea during a 5-1 defeat on Saturday.
Andros Townsend netted a late consolation for the Magpies.
