Passenger: Our pilot was 'shot in the eye' with a laser
A passenger on board a Virgin Atlantic flight which was forced to return to London Heathrow after a 'laser incident' said she was "worried" because she "hadn't heard anything like it before".
Beth McHutchison, who was travelling to New York on flight VS025, said "about an hour into the flight" the cabin crew announced that the second pilot "had been shot in the eye with a laser" during take-off.
In a statement Virgin Atlantic said it was working with the authorities to identify the source of the laser. There were 252 passengers and 15 crew on board.
Beth said she thought it "might've been an excuse" but after learning what happened she said "I had a reason to be worried".
